The Ligue de Football Professionnel, keen to protect its online community from toxic content, hate and harassment, will continue its collaboration with Bodyguard.ai during the 2023-2024 season.

Bodyguard.ai is an AI-driven technology that detects and moderates hateful, toxic, and illegal content for organizations worldwide. The LFP is one of several sports partners who have trusted the dedicated tool to protect both its followers and professional players from online hate and harassment.

Since April 2021, Bodyguard.ai has protected the LFP’s Twitter platform, and the Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube accounts of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats and the Ligue 2 BKT, totalling around 20 million followers. By using Bodyguard.ai, the LFP, which has made the fight against discrimination a key element of its CSR strategy, has been able to put its values into action and better enforce its zero-tolerance approach to all forms of online abuse.

During the two years of partnership, Bodyguard.ai has moderated more than 1.7 million comments for the LFP and identified 71,000, or 4.1 percent, as hateful. In the 2022-2023 football season, more than 34,000 toxic comments have been detected and moderated by Bodyguard.ai. This includes spam and scam content which pollutes communities and undermines genuine interactions and fan engagement. Their renewed partnership with Bodyguard.ai allows the LFP to continue to protect and promote the values of French football across their online accounts.
